Get Your Penguin On!
Yay for finally writing about last week’s cupcakes! Let’s first talk about how long I’ve known the lovely lady that ordered them. I met Michelle in 2001 when I started nannying the Mitsch Family. She was 11. 11, people. Michelle can drive… drink… pay bills… she’s all grown up…
…and this means that I’m 11 years older. YIKES.
Michelle’s older sister Holly is recently engaged and her family just hosted a bridal shower last weekend in celebration of her coming marriage. Michelle had a blue theme with lots of awesome handmade decorations, a blue candy theme table, beautiful pictures of the happy couple, and cupcakes since Holly LOVES penguins. I made the toppers on Friday night, woke up super early on Saturday to run 12 miles, then came home and baked like a MAD WOMAN to get to Michelle’s before noon.
Michelle wanted chocolate cupcakes with a marshmallow filling and a cookies and cream buttercream frosting. YUM! What a combo! She also wanted one cupcake filled with blue marshmallow filling, so that one lucky cupcake eater would be the next to get MARRIED. Fun, right? Almost like a gender reveal cake or cupcake.

Do you see their little blue eyes? Perfect touch for the blue party theme.
Now, who wants penguins for an upcoming baby shower? These were SO much fun to make! Who wants a GENDER REVEAL cupcake??? Even more FUN!
And guess who had the cupcake with the blue marshmallow filling? MICHELLE!
Thank you again Michelle for inviting me to be a part of Holly’s celebrations. You are such a wonderful sister to have made her day so special.
